The GHP installation constitutes a pioneering method of refrigeration and heating, widely used abroad, which utilizes a renewable source of energy. But what about operational and installation cost?

The economic method (3rd installation method) includes three subsets: The air-conditioned room, engine-room, where the GHP is placed with its auxiliary equipment and the outdoor installation of the geothermal exchanger. The total cost is almost the same with the one resulting from a conventional installation of air conditioning, for the same building. This cost includes boiler room of oil or gas and air-cooled chiller and auxiliary equipment.

Concerning the operating cost of installation, the annual electric energy cost of an electric GHP is approximately equal to 70% of diesel cost and electric energy cost for the air-cooled chiller of the conventional system. AM CONSTRUCTIONS have developed an algorithm to calculate costs for annual heating and cooling of specified thermal and cooling requirements buildings.

However, in AM CONSTRUCTIONS we are not satisfied by the saving offered by the GHP installation itself. Instead we examine the possibility of combining the abundant Greek solar energy with the GHP. The additional heat provided by the solar panels, controlled by advanced automation, is used for heating water for domestic use and abetting the GHP. This leads to savings of more than 70% depending the kind of installation.
